Imaginary Landscape has been a sponsor of open source efforts since its founding in 1995. This year is already off to a great start, with plenty of great events happening in the Chicago area.
On January 9th and 10th a Django Sprint was held at Everyblock's office, just a little South of our offices. We provided pizza, beer and soda for lunch and one of our programmers, Larisa Hoffenbecker, attended both days of the sprint. As always a lot of good work was done during the sprint, including everything from fixing broken links and typos to changes to model validation. We look forward to sponsoring more sprints in the future.
We will also be providing pizza for next month's ChiPy meeting. This month's ChiPy meeting featured talks by David Beazley, Chris Webber, and Jordan Bettis. Carl Kasten has posted videos of all three talks on blip.tv:
Changes to the GIL that have been added to the Python 3 branch David Beazley
GitPython Christopher Webber
A technical, standards-spec style analysis of unicode Jordan Bettis
In February we will once again be sponsoring and attending PyCon, being held in Atlanta this year. We'll be posting regular updates and tweeting from the conference. Hope to see you there!
